Wake Forest University
Our Zao Water contact Clara Wiggins met us and led us to Wake Forest University, where we met Becky Hartzog. Becky hosted us for our day at the Univeristy. We walked around campus smiling, singing and taking pictures with students, as well as marveling at how an educational institution could be so big!
We met Mark Hoover, from Rift Valley Academy, and he tried his Swahili on the En-kata Choir – which always makes us smile!
We sang outside as people walked by…
We found ourselves some tall friends to jump with…
… some beautiful girls to take pictures with…
…took pictures with some guys from the Delta Alpha chapter of Phi Beta Sigma…
Thanks LD for posing with us.
…and generally, had a great time singing and chatting with people around the campus.
We had a delicious all-you-can-eat lunch in the Pit, and had to say goodbye to our new friend Clara.
We sent her on her way with love and blessings, and plans to come visit us in Tanzania!
It was a beautiful evening for singing out in Manchester Plaza.
We met students from Kenya, international students, international travelers, and we made friends with the Ice Cream Lady! (Thank you for the free ice cream!)
Marshall surprised us all by showing up at Wake Forest University. He spent some time with the Maasai (Masai) at Pamoja Ministries before they left on this trip. What a surprise and delight it was to run into “the white man who knows how to dance and jump like a Maasai (Masai) Warrior”.
I’m so glad Marshall was able to come and visit with his new friends. What an awesome time we had together in Arusha!
