An Evening with Grace Church Leadership
Allan and Jane hosted us on their beautiful property. We set up our tents under a sky splattered with my favourite clouds, and we had an evening of fellowship with the Grace Church Staff and their families.
Part of the agenda of our evening of fellowship was for us to transcend our cultural and language differences and feel like family. We started the evening by going around and introducing ourselves, and sharing something that we are celebrating God for.
After introductions we shared a traditional, home-cooked meal of ‘Ugali na Supu’, that Karduni, and the ladies made… and everyone tried it (and if they didn’t enjoy it, we certainly could Not tell!)
The Maasai (Masai) sang a song, then Ryan led us in a song we all sang together.
And we finished the evening off with a time of sharing. We shared about Maasai (Masai) culture and traditions, and the change that Jesus has made in our lives, and in the culture as a whole. And the Americans did the same. And we had a conversation that is so very valuable. Maasai (Masai) and Americans sharing, learning and growing together.
