It All Adds Up
Yesterday we finally were able to do something that we’ve been holding our breath and waiting to do… we began the process of building a school in Orbili! It’s been a long time coming. After the end of the tour MAPED began the process of getting permission to build, and we began the process of closing the books on the tour. Yesterday Maliaki and Yona came by Pamoja with the news we’ve all been waiting for – they have permission to build. They’ve met with the head of the Simanjiro (province) council and have verbal go-ahead from him. They’ve also met with their member of parliament, and he has also added his approval. Much of the government paperwork still awaits, but this is the beginning we have been waiting for!
So to each one of you who has participated in some way in this – hosting the choir, hearing them sing, buying the book, giving to support the project, and praying for the process that has followed.
We’ll be posting updates here as MAPED fills us in on their progress. We’ll also be heading out to Maasailand next week, so look forward to hearing more. Now, more than ever, please pray for Pamoja, for MAPED, and for the school.
If you’d like more updates about what’s going on, please send us your email address! email info@pamoja.info with the word “subscribe” in the subject.
This is dreams coming true!
There is hope for the Maasai!
And my friend’s kids will go to school.
Thank you everyone for helping and caring.
