Yona
Yona used to be a ‘dangerous trouble-maker’ in his own words. He was a warrior, and he hated Christians.
He tried to destroy the church with witchcraft, he tried to preserve destructive traditions. He beat people, and he was angry.
Of all the Maasai out in Simanjiro, this man is the one who’s eyes speak most of transformation. Since the first time I met him, his eyes have been what amaze me.
He is a new man.
He KNOWS beyond a shadow of a doubt who God is.

This man challenged God, and God won. After loosing his mind, and eating dirt off the ground for three long months, Yona admitted defeat, and became a servant of God.
Yona is now the head of a non-governmental organization which is bringing development to Maasailand through music! He has a choir that sings about the dangers of AIDS, the need for education, and women’s rights.

Yona is coming to America to sing about his God, and tell you his story
