Maasai at Play
Our time in Victoria has been filled with shows, but in the times that we haven’t been busy preparing, the Maasai have found a few ways to .
First of all, North Douglas Church has simply been a blessing to us throughout our stay. The facilities here include a gym and a play room. The Maasai were quick to pick up a pool cue and slowly they began picking up the rules as well.
The guys don’t hold back; they are all extremely competitive. The dynamics of the group really comes out as they get into a game. It has been hilarious to just sit back and watch as they could play pool all day if allowed to do so.
Mathayo, on the other hand, likes to try his hand at the other games in the room: foosball and air hockey.
On Thursday evening, Erynn decided that we needed some outside play as well, so we went to a local park. Our intention had not originally been to hang out at the playground, but that is where we ended up anyways. Mathayo went running about. This was his kind of place. Others were a bit more skeptical.
Yona most definitely was not a fan of the swings. He really can’t stand being up in the air, without his feet firmly on the ground.
The trip to the park was a success! And everyone enjoyed being a kid… just as long as we don’t put Yona on any more swings.
