Arrived!
Jacob, Kim, JoAnna and I made it to the airport on time and we got our cameras out and we waited, but no Maasai.
Jacob checked the itinerary and realized we showed up at the time they were supposed to depart Dallas.
We waited.
We got ready with our cameras and waited… but no Maasai came off the plane.
We became detectives… we found ONE Maasai box. (Thank you Pamoja for putting Jacob’s name and some Maasai blanket on the box… it made it easy to identify!)
That box was a comfort… it meant that the choir had made it to America.
We spoke to the lady at the desk, and she couldn’t tell us what flight the Maasai would be on, but I think seeing Jacob’s name on his license and on the box gave her enough confidence to suggest that if she were us she would wait around until 8:45pm… so we waited.
And all but one of the rest of the bags arrived… but no Maasai.
And then the En-kata Choir ARRIVED! Beautifully dressed in their shuka, eyes mostly open, and with big smiles!
We collected our bags, filed a claim for the bag that didn’t come, and proceeded to the van.
I announced that everyone should put their seat belt on, and pretty soon there were seat belts wrapped around necks and arms, and in other generally hazardous locations. I put every woman and child’s seat belt on for them… and we left.
There weren’t too many exclamations of shock or awe because before we were out of the airport, nearly every head was nodding.
They’ve arrived.
Safe and Sound.
Wow! May you all be blessed and watched over.
Let the journey begin!
