On Tuesday, the choir performed at Shepherd’s Gate Community Church in the small town of Bandera, Texas — the same church and town where three years ago the first En-kata tour began.
Three years ago, the isolated Maasai-run school in the middle of Simanjiro, Tanzania was only a vision, which the community of Bandera embraced and helped turn into reality. Today, a framed picture gifted by the Bandera church to the choir hangs on one of the school’s walls. It was a privilege for the choir to share how their generosity is providing Maasai children with an education.
Pastor Bob Devora gave us a warm welcome with the little country church demonstrating that you don’t have to be big to make a large impact.
We were treated to a close community experience in the packed church hall, followed by an outdoor feast under the night sky.
