Day 3: Worship, Horses, and Cows with big horns
Day 3 was full of God’s grace. We loved the time of worship at Destiny Church.
Isack’s quote of the day is “They put the words up on the wall!.. and they yelled at Satan ‘GO’!”
Yona loved the buildings of the churches – both Destiny and Shepherd’s Gate. Maliaki especially loved the time of worship at Destiny.
Natapoaki held more white babies than any Maasai woman in history. She loves children and children love her.
Everyone signed a bunch of books, and the ladies especially were so proud to be able to write their own names. (Thank you Joy (mom) for teaching them!)
Sifa and Mathayo had never seen horses before, so the pastor of Shepheard’s Gate church took us next door to look at one close up!
After the Maasai (Masai) Choir finished singing, Jacob came to the front and announced that not only is this the first day of our En-kata Faces of Change tour, but that my sister-in-law just gave birth to a new baby boy! There was jumping and celebrating!
Pastor Devora took all of us over to a friends ranch, and Mary showed us how to make pottery, a real cowboy gave Yona his cowboy hat, and we talked about cows. What more could a Maasai (Masai) want, than to stand around and talk about the cows?!
Then, to make an already great day even better, Pastor Devora and his wife fed us some delicious meat. (The only activity a Maasai (Masai) loves more than talking about cows)! And everyone fell asleep on the way home.
What a great way to start a choir tour! Thank you all for a wonderful first day!
