Preparing for Tour

Mom, Dad and I went out to Olerumo for the week to meet with the 9 who are going on Choir Tour in August.
We sat with them under a thorn tree and we talked about culture, mission, travel, music and even hygiene. It was hot, and there were flies. But the chai was delicious, and the music exciting. I played with kids, sat on the ground and beaded with the ladies, and planned songs for the tour. It’s faces like this that are motivating this tour. This little girl Nemburis is going to be able to go to school because nine of her family and friends are going to sing in America – the adventure of a lifetime.
It’s a privilege to be involved with the community transformation which is happening here in Maasai-land. Whether it’s children, women, men or cattle – things are changing. It’s a thrill to be able to dialogue with them about the challenges and godly solutions. Joy and I had a great week with them; especially the prayers and singing.
